When it comes to the focal point for Sapa’s collective design talent, coffee houses have, no doubt, overtaken local restaurants. Not only the places to go to feed your craving for morning coffee, but cafes in Sapa are also the most innovative and undeniably great locations for Instagram photos. That’s why visiting the most Instagrammable coffee shops is one of the things to do in Sapa!

SAPA O’CHAU CAFE

Sapa O’Chau Cafe

  • Location: No 08 Thac Bac (Thác Bạc), Sapa Town, Lao Cai Province;
  • Opening hours: 7.00.A.M.-6.00.P.M.;
  • Price range: VND 25,000 -55,000 (USD 1.1-2.4) per drink item;
  • Telephone: (84-20) 3 771 166; (84-91) 5 351 479.

This lovely coffee house on Thac Bac Street does not need a luxurious fit-out to look good. It is thought to be accumulated 6-7 years of the personality courtesy of the owner and founder of Sapa O’Chau Travel Social Enterprise – an NGO dedicated to giving excellent opportunities to study and work for the regional Giay, Hmong, Red Dao, Tay, Xa Pho, etc., minority tribespeople.

The substantial all-day menu with plenty of options from Western breakfast menu items to fish and cheap and pancakes is just as perfect for snacking as it is a full meal. Ginger tea with a sweet touch of Sapa mountain honey is also a should-not-miss drink.

LE GECKO

Le Gecko

  • Location: No 04 Ham Rong (Hàm Rồng), Sapa Town, Lao Cai Province;
  • Opening hours: 6.00.A.M.-11.30.P.M.;
  • Price range: VND 20,000 -70,000 (USD 0.9-3.1) per drink item;
  • Telephone: 0214 3871 504.

Sapa Town’s hidden gem of a cafe-cum-restaurant-and-wine bar, Le Gecko, is home to one of the most wonderful interiors that people have stumbled across on their Sapa tours. Right after walking into Le Gecko, you will be impressed by the greenery of the tiny flower pots hung in the balcony and the comfortable wooden chairs on the great patio outside.

At one of the most Instagrammable Coffee Shops are the views of both Indochina’s highest vantage point – the Fansipan Peak and Sapa’s church and Xuan Vien Flower Garden. Can you imagine something more stunning than basking in the exceptional scenery while sipping a nice cuppa of Lavazza – a kind of Italy’s favorite coffee and indulging in the name chocolate – which is freshly made with high-quality ingredients right at the restaurant.

The Hill Station

The Hill Station

  • Location: No 7 Muong Hoa Street (Mường Hoa), Sapa Town, Lao Cai Province;
  • Opening hours: 7.00.A.M.-10.30.P.M.;
  • Price range: VND 150,000 -300,000 (USD 6.5-13.0) per person.

Hidden inside a 2-floor stilt house in Sapa is the Hill Station cafe where most people on their Sapa tours will most likely find them living in when their craving for drool-worthy Instagram marketing inspo eventually reaches an uncontrollably astronomical level. The vibes of a modern combination of an old house in Northwest Vietnam and an elegant touch of Western décor, along with the great lighting details makes this avenue a must-visit for any interior-loving breakfast fiend. Such a wonderful combination of East and West, old and new! In an excellent way!

For those who are fond of people-watching, the view of the crowded Fansipan Street seen from above is a reason enough to visit the Hill Station on their Sapa day tour.

BAGUETTE & CHOCOLATE CAFE

BAGUETTE & CHOCOLAT CAFE

  • Location: No 4 Thac Bac (Thác Bạc), Sapa Town, Lao Cai Province;
  • Opening hours: 7.30.A.M.-8.00.P.M.;
  • Price range: VND 50.000 – 165.000 (USD 2.17-7.2) per person;

Somehow the strategic location in an impressive red and white French colonial style building and the five-star services offered by dedicated staff make that $7.2 iced/hot chocolate or strong Vietnamese coffee go down just that little bit easier.

You can also pick up plenty of Vietnamese dishes and vegetarian options like fried/fresh/vermicelli spring rolls and French delights such as pastries (spring apple and tarte aux poivres), cakes (milk chocolate cake), and chocolate. Cheese lasagna lovers will also find their favorite here.
